Ted is a kind, compassionate, uniquely skilled, and highly experienced therapist. He has expressed his calling through his healing work for over forty years. He is well-read, a forever student and a world traveler. He balances his dedication to his work with landscape design, culinary arts and spirituality. He is a devoted husband, loving his wife, colleague, life partner and soulmate, Lori Russell-Chapin, Ph.D., grieving her loss in 2024 and celebrating her extraordinarily successful time in this world. He is a proud and loving father, father-in-law and grandfather. His daughter, Elissa, is a school counselor and his son, Jaimeson, manages the business operations at Chapin & Russell Associates. Ted cherishes their loved ones, Jody and Adam, and his four granddaughters, Ryleigh, Haylee, Kenzie and Shelby.
Ted has an extensive range of counseling experience. Among his many credentials, he is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified in Neurofeedback. Ted works out every day, eats healthy, meditates and keeps a dream journal. He continues to publish in the areas of neurocounseling and neurofeedback. He presents for the American Counseling Association and the International Society for Neuroregulation and Research. He is the President of Chapin & Russell Associates and maintains an active client schedule. He would feel honored to work with you and your loved ones. She promotes a holistic view of her clients’ health needs while encouraging self-care and self-compassion.
Malinda is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is excited to educate her clients about how EMDR can help free them from the wounds of their past. She has training in Attachment-Based Family Therapy with expertise in guiding parents, caregivers, and their adolescents and teenagers toward healthy, joy-filled relationships.

He has advanced training in biofeedback, neurofeedback, and qEEG and is also a Certified Brain Health Coach through Amen Clinics.
Shane works with children, teens, adults, parents, families, first responders, veterans, and law enforcement professionals. His areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, academic and attention concerns, sleep difficulties, anger, self-esteem, grief and loss, PTSD and trauma, domestic violence recovery, concussion recovery, performance anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation.
His counseling style is warm, direct, and practical. He helps clients feel heard while providing tools they can use in daily life. Depending on the client’s needs, his work may include counseling, neurofeedback, biofeedback, and brain-health education.
Shane also provides parent coaching, counseling, and education. As a father who has raised four children, he understands the pressures parents face. He helps parents better understand their child’s behavior, improve communication, set healthy limits, and create greater consistency at home.
As a military veteran, retired law enforcement officer, and first responder, Shane brings personal understanding of service, critical incidents, and high-pressure roles to his work with first responders, veterans, law enforcement professionals, and their families.
Outside of work, Shane enjoys fitness, hiking, and time with his wife, four children, and grandchildren. He has coached youth sports and volunteers as an instructor for women’s self-defense and empowerment workshops. He is also a certified S.A.F.E. and R.A.D. women’s self-defense instructor.

A Devoted Wife, Mother, Friend, Counselor, Colleague and Professor at Bradley University.
Lori touched the lives of many and healed the hearts and souls of those she served. She was the Co-founder of Chapin & Russell Associates with her husband and life partner, Ted Chapin, Ph.D. Together they published several books on counseling, supervision and neurofeedback. As a prolific author, researcher, and practitioner with a column in “Counseling Today,” she and Ted shared their knowledge with professionals across the world.
Lori’s passion was living life with love and applying neuroscience in counseling practice. She was Board Certified in Neurofeedback, coined the term “Neurocounseling,” and was a beloved teacher, supervisor and mentor to several of our staff. Lori will be deeply missed and always remembered by her clients, colleagues, friends and family.
